哈尔滨电气集团有限公司由“一五”期间苏联援建的156项重点建设项目的6项沿革发展而来，以1951年陆续开始建设的哈尔滨“三大动力厂”（电机厂、锅炉厂、汽轮机厂）为主体发展壮大，是我国最早的发电设备研制基地和成套设备出口基地。

Harbin Electric Corporation (HE) built upon six of the 156 key construction projects aided by the Soviet Union during the "First Five-Year Plan," it has grown significantly since its establishment in 1951 with the construction of Harbin's "Big Three Power Plants" (Electric Motor Plant, Boiler Plant, Turbine Plant). The company is one of the earliest power generation equipment research and manufacturing bases in China.

Furthermore, these products have been exported to more than 50 countries and regions.Its large hydropower units account for half of China's total installed capacity, while its coal power and nuclear power main equipment, along with heavy gas turbines, constitute a third of the national total. These achievements have made substantial contributions to China’s high-quality economic development, and modernization of national defense capabilities.
