EPRI was founded in Palo Alto, Calf., by Dr. Chauncey Starr in 1972. For more than 50 years, EPRI has grown R&D network around the world, collaborating with more than 450 companies in 45 countries, driving innovation to ensure the public has clean, safe, reliable, affordable, and equitable access to electricity. With more than 1,300 employees, EPRI maintains a global presence in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.

EPRI works at the crux of the energy transformation – alongside industry, academia, and government – to better equip society to tackle the energy challenges of today and the opportunities of tomorrow. Structured collaboration is fundamental to EPRI’s success, and our scientists and engineers partner with hundreds of leaders from government, universities, national labs and environmental groups to develop and conduct our research, deliver results, and apply the findings.

EPRI also serves as the host of the U.S. Member Committee of the World Energy Council, capitalizing on our collaborative tradition to see that community voices and needs are built into energy system solutions.
